Bellville Tygers Crowned Cape Town Baseball 2nd League Champions

The Cape Town Baseball Federation proudly concludes a thrilling season of the Cape Town Baseball 2nd League, with the Bellville Tygers emerging as the undisputed champions after an exceptional campaign.

A Season of Competition and Growth

This season showcased the depth and talent within our baseball community, with ten teams competing fiercely over 18 rounds of action-packed baseball. From the opening game in October to the final pitch in February, teams battled not only for supremacy but also for development, sportsmanship, and the love of the game.

The Road to Victory

The Bellville Tygers demonstrated remarkable consistency and dominance throughout the season, finishing with an impressive record of 15 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. Their offensive firepower, amassing 214 runs, coupled with a solid defensive effort allowing only 79 runs against them, cemented their position as the top team in the league.

While the Tygers ultimately took top honors, competition was fierce, with Battswood and VOB Macaws keeping the race for the championship intense until the final rounds. Both teams matched records of 13-5, pushing the leaders at every turn and showcasing the league’s competitive spirit.

A League of Talent

The season was not just about the champions. Each team displayed moments of brilliance, with rising young stars and seasoned veterans contributing to an unforgettable season. The Bothasig Knights, Athlone A’s, and Helderberg Pirates delivered strong performances, while the Lansdowne Eagles, Durbanville Villains, and Silvertree Titans fought valiantly through challenges, showcasing resilience and growth. Despite a tough season for Thistle, they remained dedicated to development and competition, emphasizing the true spirit of baseball.
